Westport Rivers Winery, Massachusetts www.westportrivers.com |
Westport Rivers is a family owned vineyard and winery. Bob & Carol Russell bought an old dairy farm in 1982 and planted the first vines in 1986 (40 acres of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Johannisberg Riesling). Following further plantings in the late 1990s, they now have the largest vineyard (some 80 acres) in New England (planted entirely with vinifera varieties: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Johannisberg Riesling, Pinot Meunier, Rkatsitelli, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris).
